The fog lamps using HID |
The OEM lighting seems to be a bit pitiful to see clearly during this rainy season and at night. It is critical to see and be seen. In addition with Malaysia weather of raining throughout the year, it is quite troublesome to see clearly particularly during heavy downpour.
Recent assignment done with converting to Elite edition bumper gave me the opportunity to improve my Perodua Viva lighting. This is because Elite edition bumper comes with space for fog lamps. However an Elite pair of fog lamps cost about MYR 300 and that is expensive. Thus a friend suggested using those cheap generic fog lamps that are available at car accessory shops, and only cost about MYR 80. Although some minor adjustment need to be done in order to fit it in the Elite bumper. This is a fairly easy job through some creativity.
Fog lamps was drilled and silicone glue was used to secure the hole |
That generic fog lamp was fairly bright enough but it has to be install along with relay. Nonetheless I already ordered a set of HID with the range of 4300. :) The HID set cost MYR 130. Contact Beruang Garage through facebook if interested with this set and superb workmanship for installation. He is the one that suggested and willing to help me install with a small fee.
The task begins, aiming to improve visibility at night or when it is needed the most.
