Want to maintain your aircond colderness? Try this!

In this part I would like to share how you could help to maintain your Perodua Viva aircond coldness. :) Well other than installing cabin air filter, it is also important to make sure aircond blower stay squeaky clean.

Aircond blower

The cabin filter helps to filter debris and make the air conditioning more hygienic. The filter really does aid in this. I have cleaned my blower twice. The first attempt to clean it, there was a lot of dust sticking to the blower. Yesterday when I did it again, there was less dust. This maybe due to previously my Perodua Viva was not installed/came without cabin air filter.

Since there was a question raised on how to maintain your aircond, I would like to share this DIY. If previously your car does not have a cabin filter it should be done before installing one.
First step, take out the glove box. Refer to my previous posting on how to install cabin filter in Perodua Viva.
Please refer pictures below for more information:

My dashboard is haywire :(
Remove the cover under it

Then removes the 3 screws to move the ECU to give ample space to take out the blower. Use size 12 to remove the 3 screws.

Screw at the back of the ECU
Move the ECU aside

After that get under the dashboard to remove the 3 screws that secure the blower.
A bit difficult and require a lot of patience due to space constraints.

Only then I can get the blower out and start cleaning it thoroughly using bottle brush, cotton bud and cleaning material. Be careful and do not use water if the blower is still attach with motor. Electrical part should not be douse with water.

The pictures after cleaning was done are as per below.
I detach the blower from the motor for easy cleaning and can be soak in water. :)
However be careful to take the blower off the motor. We do not want a broken motor to be insert back right.
Squeaky clean huh? :)

Then insert back the blower and call it a day. Do not forget to test your aircond afterwards. Do not want a non functioning aircond when all job is done.

Next up is to enjoy the aircond..... :)
