Update on Hotbits Header/ Extractor

The crack
After approximately around 2 years of usage, this Hotbits header cracked and need to be replaced. The first sign was there was this annoying sound from the engine bay, something like a boxer engine like in the Imprezas.
I was first very skeptical when people in the forum inform how vulnerable this Hotbits extractor. Well, something that cost MYR 340 and the brand it stamped with should have good quality control was my first impression. Plus at the exhaust piping itself there is marking said “Made in Australia”. Now I am proven otherwise and a bit frustrated with Hotbits. Well, I am going to ban this brand forever. :p

Now I am using those cheap/ chicken brand extractor bought from the yellow sign shop. Tight on budget at the moment due to Raya festivals is coming and my car insurance is expiring. Thank god it cost much lower, priced at MYR 180 including installation. I guess it should serve it purpose for now. This is because the irritating noise created by Hotbits header/extractor was already worse. It sounds like a boxer engine and get worsen (only sound and no power) and cause my FC to increase drastically.

The replacement
During my visit to a few exhaust shop to find new extractor, one shop inform me that Hotbits actually bought in large volume the extractor from local shop. Later they chromed and stamp it their brand. The owner informed that Speedworks do not have any factory to produce extractor/ header hence they outsource it at a very shameful price. Cost them about MYR 80 for one extractor. Well now it does make sense to me. Speedworks is very good in marketing. Lol.
P/S: this may just be rumours, but something to ponder at. I will not be held responsible for any action etc.

He he he...

Anda bukak bumper depan, anda pasti nmpk tabung dekat dengan extractor tu. Biasanya kita org panggil 'sarang tebuan'. Bukak extractor tu sekali tabung tu. Pi potong bhgn atas tabung tu dn buang 'sarang' dlm tu. Hu hu jgn buang dgn hanya tgn kosong nanti tergaru2 plak..benda tu cukup gatal bila terkena tangan. Dh buang habis lps tu welding blk tabung tu, lps tu pasang blk pada keta anda. Anda akan dapat rasai perbezaannya serta merta.

Bro.if viva auto better use which one?3-2-1or 3-1?

i dun tink there is a difference.
u might want to see the real 3-1 and 3-2-1, it has not much difference in term of design.same length and size of piping.
but for auto, u will risk on high FC...or just change the extractor and left everything else stock. :)
