Grounding Cable– My View

2nd September 2009

When voltage stabilizer is pair with grounding system it improve to strengthen current and voltage in the car. The grounding on the other hand assists to facilitate the current to flow back to the negative terminal effectively and quickly. A lot of people advise to use bigger cable for better/superior result. A grounding cable is measure thru American Wire Gauge (AWG) specification. The lower the number of the AWG the thicker the cable. The normal size available in the market is 8 AWG. If want better cable choose 4 AWG instead with OFC (Oxygen Free Copper). A 5 point grounding cable is enough but it really depend on the car owner preference. It is always good to have more grounding for heavy ICEd cars.

I installed on my Perodua Viva a grounding product from Qmax. It is also known as grounding and alternator charging cable. Previously was known as Photo-Conducted Pressure Plus Power Accelerator 2-1 (which mean comes with 2 ground wires and 1 positive alternator direct charge). These cables help to stabilize the voltage from the battery without straining the alternator. Mine comes with one cable which is connected to the car’s alternator positive and battery positive terminal to aid faster and better charging of the battery. Plus a couple of grounding cable that are located at the throttle and alternator body. These cable cost me MYR 300 including installation at Kaitenaz Racing in Sunway (can always email them to enquire at enquiry@kaitenazracing.com).

The result of this product from Qmax was instantaneous. I felt the car more responsive and even better gear shifting. The car feedback at lower rpm is more swift and fun to drive around town.
The haywire engine bay. Huhuhu!
I already get a member from Perodua Viva club to custom DIY 4 AWG grounding cable for me. Cannot wait to DIY and install this in my Perodua Viva. :)
